High Schoolers (and parents): Let’s Break the Chains!

High school students and their parents are invited to join us for a four-hour awareness and prayer gathering on Saturday, October 22 in the BAFBC Student Center.  We’ll be confronted by one of the most dark and desperate opportunities for God’s people to “love our neighbor” and prove “zealous for good deeds” in this generation: human trafficking.  On that day, we’ll view a feature-length documentary called “Not For Sale,” and then fight the oppression that God so hates, in obedience to His command, in two ways: by sacrificing financially (there is a $10 entrance fee that will be donated in its entirety to International Justice Mission and Redeemed Ministries) and by laboring in intercession for the oppressed and the oppressor.

We hope you’ll make plans to join us that day!  We’re asking that everyone arrive wearing black, as a sign of grief over the suffering we’ll be discussing and praying against that day.

Fall Retreat
This year, we have added a new event called Fall Retreat.  It is Friday, November 11 through Saturday, November 12.  It will combine a few previous events that we had in the past.  Those events are Men of Valor, Breathtaking, and Mid-Winter.  We are including two new junior high events that were not on our calendar too.

Fall Retreat is one weekend that is split up by guys and girls.  Both junior high and high school girls will head to Trinity Pines Encampment.  It will be a sweet time of Bible study, worship, and fellowship.  Also, we want to continue to encourage moms to attend this event with their daughters.  For this event, there will be a high school track and a junior high track.

Guys, your event will take place on huge piece of property outside of Alvin.  This new piece of property is perfect for Fall Retreat because, it has fishing, a mud pit, and all types of terrain for airsoft and man-hunt.  The high school guys will participate in Men of Valor.  Tim Frankovich is the teacher for weekend talks of sexual purity and honor before God, and Tim is bringing all his awesome tools of destruction: airsoft guns and padded battle axes, swords, and shields.  Junior high guys will participate in everything except for the Men of Valor talks.  Junior high will focus and being honorable leaders, and the men that God wants us to be.
