prayer

Today we have invited everyone to skip lunch and spend time together in prayer for our summer camp next week.I wanted to offer this written prayer as the conclusion for this time.

Father we thank You for the opportunity to come to You in prayer.  We know, Lord, that the very privilege to come to You is undeserved and has only been given to us through the sacrifice of Your Son Jesus. Today, we honor You as our King and we pledge our allegiance to Your Kingdom.  Lord, we come together to ask You to bless our summer camp next week in extraordinary ways.  We ask You for safety as we travel to and from camp, and for safety as we participate in all of the activities. More than anything else, Lord, today we together ask You to move in our hearts and lives in ways that would lead us to follow You more completely.  We ask that our lives would be purified by Your truth, shaped in Your image, and focused for Your purpose.  Lord make us faithful disciples who love You more than anything else and who see You as the chief joy in our lives.  We need You, we invite You, and we beg You to do great things for our good and Your glory!  We love You more than we can express and pledge our lives in Your service.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
